Dr. Aaron Stauffer Brings A Passion For Forming Leaders For Public Witness To Saint Paul

窪蹋勛圖厙 is pleased to welcome Dr. Aaron Stauffer as Assistant Professor of Social Ethics and Community Leadership, beginning July 1, 2026. A scholar of social ethics with a deep commitment to congregational life, Dr. Stauffer brings an interdisciplinary vision of theological education rooted in conversation and critical reflection.

In the classroom, Dr. Stauffer values conversation as an essential part of theological formation. He describes theological education as a collective process of forming and reforming ourselves as faithful Christians committed to social holiness. Dr. Stauffer looks forward to curating spaces for deep thinking and critical conversations and forming curious, relational leaders who connect theology to the realities of ministry and public life.

An ordained Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA), Dr. Stauffer is active in his denomination and has participated in international ecumenical and interfaith organizations, such as the World Council of Reformed Churches and the World Council of Churches.

Dr. Stauffer is a graduate with Distinction from St. Olaf College. He also holds a Master of Divinity in Interreligious and Ecumenical Studies and a Ph.D in Social Ethics from Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York. His Dissertation is entitled: Organizing Lived Religious Practices for Power: Sacred Value in Broad-Based Community Organizing.
